Exposure PR Visit.

Hey Everyone. My apologies for the lack of blog posts recently, I have had some trouble with my gmail account and it wouldn't allow me to publish my posts, anywho I am back now with lots of news for ye all.

We took a visit to Exposure PR offices with the college recently and it was a really fun and informative trip. We learned lots on how to approach PR personnel and how to go about borrowing clothes, which of course is super helpful advice for the business we all hope to go into. And as ever, its really not what you know but more importantly, who you know? So a smiling face, bubbly personality and hard working attitude helps to get you places in the fashion world, I think that's manageable.. Maybe?

Here are some pictures I took of the storerooms and the brands they carry, which include Dr.Martens, Hunter, Nike, Terry de Havilland and Christopher Raeburn.

The Beautiful Showroom, I was in my element!

I really learned alot from the trip to Exposure, and their offices were stunning! Fashion PR is definitely an area I am interested in working in and hopefully one day I will !

One for the Girls.

Henry Cavill

Oh boy. How has this all British all beautiful creature escaped my obsessive celebrity radar until now. Genuinely, I believe that I am well and truly in love. I have to admit I am way more guilty of having girl crushes rather than the norm of swooning over R-Pats and the like (not that I don't partake in that every now and then ) but this man/piece of art is just AH-MAZE-ZING.

From a styling point of view it cant exactly be said that he is adventurous with his style. He keeps it nice and simple, shirts and slacks or jeans are the go-to for this guy. Really though, with a face like that even I don't care what the guy is wearing (ok within reason of course). This actor keeps it super cool and laid back but I like it. Its flawless and ever so sexy

He played a leading role in the popular television series The Tudors, which somehow has also managed to escape me. I might just have to run out and grab myself that box set and most recently he starred in movies such as Immortals and Cold Light of Day. So not only is he beautiful but he is talented, double swoon.

Doing my ''research'' I came across this gem of a website with some more than flattering pictures of Henry, (yes,we are on first name basis now). Click on this link for more pics, http://www.homorazzi.com/article/sexy-brit-henry-cavill-the-tudors-charles-brandon-shirtless-pictures-gay-man-crush-immortals/ ..Oh and you can thank me later ;)

Time & Leisure Magazine:First Editorial Shoot.

On Wednesday last I styled my very first editorial look for Time & Leisure magazine. It took place in a great studio in The Worx, where LCS is based and they provided a hair and make-up team, photographer and great models for all us students to avail of.

Time & Leisure is a monthly magazine with a predominantly female readership ages between 25-50 years old. This shoot was challenging as we not only had to achieve an attainable look for the readership but also comply with a theme representing, 'London's Fashion Scene'.

Canary yellow leaf detailed pencil skirt I bought from the amazing vintage shop Absolute Vintage.

Black Bowler hat from H&M

Leather patch work sweater again from Absolute Vintage. £28,
an absolute steal for this great piece.

Chain mail necklace collar also from Primark, £5.
Ankle boots from H&M, £30.

Inspiration is not hard to come by when you live in London. The streets are full of creative looking people who aren't afraid to show their own style. So I took to the streets to see what look I could come up with that  oozed London. The pictures above are of all the individual items I sourced to create the look that I felt reflected London's fashion scene.

On the day of the shoot, each student got equal time with hair and make-up and the photographer to shoot the look. It was such an exciting day and really gave me a sense of what my job could possibly be like some day!

I was really pleased with my final look and was lucky to have such a great model. The aim of my look was 'scruffy glamour' because to me that is what Londoners style is all about.

London's Calling: Scruffy Glamour.

A glimpse at the whole styling.

Mise, altering my look on model Pattie.

This was an invaluable opportunity given  to us by LCS because although we were kindly assisted along the way with creating our vision it was ultimately our own choice in hair, make-up and styling that was the final image which was shot for the magazine. I had an amazing, exciting day and I cannot wait for Editorial Day take 2!

Truffle Shuffle Customisation Challenge.

Through LCS, I have been given the really exciting chance to customise a garment for the very cool, very retro brand, Truffle Shuffle. Truffle Shuffle are an amazing brand and are most famous for their line of retro T-shirts and hoodies and all other kinds of cool old style accessories.

Truffle Shuffle garments have been seen sported by lots of A-list celebs such as Rihanna, Pixie Lott and the very handsome Robert Downey Jr, to name a few. So the success of this brand is not be surpassed.

We recieved lots of retro t-shirts and hoodies to the college for us to choose from and begin customising our grarment of choice. I chose this t-shirt below purely because I am die hard girly girl at heart and I am always drawn to pink.

So the deal is that we customise our t-shirts, style our creation to create an outfit to be worn by us, then shoot our look and document the whole process on our blog. Simple? Maybe not. Exciting? Definitely. This is a competition so the winner will receive a voucher for £250 to spend on www.TruffleShuffle.com .. I wont say no to that!

As I was kindly informed by one of my lecturers, Jem and the Holograms, the design seen on the t-shirt, is an animated tv series from the 80's about an all girl rock band. So from there my inspiration was instantaneous, 80s make-up. What else do you think of when you hear,80s rock? So i'm thinking, fake hair, false eyelashes, guitar strings.. Oh the possibilities!

I will be keeping you updated so be sure to keep a look out for the newest posts. Who knows maybe you might be inspired to do your own customising!

Street Style at London Fashion Week.

London Fashion Week is a great excuse to get out on the streets and check out some of the amazing style been sported by fashion lovers and bloggers alike.

Over the week I spent hours at Somerset House, where alot of the shows took place and where designer exhibitions are hosted and I managed to get myself some great shots of some really great street style!

I was surprised to see just how much effort 'normal' people put into their outfits. It really is an attention seeking event and people go to extremes just to be noticed and of course to get papped.

Overall it really is a crazy and off the wall atmosphere and I loved every minute of it ! Its a chance to see people from all walks of life and how they portray themselves through their personal style. I came across everything from uber chic designer looks to candy coloured, cupcakes in hair,  rain bowed tutu ensembles.

I spotted this girl in the queue for the Zoe Jordan show.
I loved her houndstooth mustard coat so much.. Which is now on my wishlist :)

Hats were all over the streets during LFW.

Girly chic.

I wonder who inspired this look? It would never be Katy Perry no?

Studs are huge this season. You can pick up a very similar pair at Topshop.

Model Style.

My favorite look from all of Fashion Week.
To me this is simply flawless, Louboutin heels, Dior sunnies, gold Chanel earrings.
With this stunning white colar midi dress and gold belt.
Throw in the red lips, PERFECTION.
Black speckled over sized jumper dress with these black army styled boots and gold ankle cuffs goes great with the dip dyed hair.

Gold ankle cuffs adds a touch of glamour to these army styled boots.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and even get some inspiration for your own wardrobe.

Rising Designer Stars at LFW.

With every new season brings new, fresh and exciting designers to the forefront and London Fashion Week is no different.

Yet it was one particularly talented designer whose collection caught my eye , and for good reason. With a collection that featured Tesco bag prints, urban graffiti-covered jackets, bold print neckerchiefs, metallic suits and Swarovski crystals in the shape of sharks , Maarten van der Horst SS13 collection was nothing short of intriguing.

His collection was showcased at Lulu Kennedys Fashion East, a young  designer who has to be given credit for the platform that she has been provided for up and coming designers in recent years.Van der Hosrt, the Central Saint Martins graduate said, “The concept was basically rubbish and garbage; what we find around us. And it was very much about my territory as well, what I see everyday,”.

Metallic cut-off jacket.

Urban/Graffiti prints were all over the catwalk.

Tesco Bag print shirt dress.
Personally I loved this collection for the way Van der Horst made everyday items into beautiful and surprisingly very wearable pieces, that I myself would most definitely wear.

This  innovative designer is one that i will most certainly be keeping a close eye on each season.

Celebrity Sightings at London Fashion Week.

Im sure you are all aware we are well in the midst of London Fashion Week. Amazingly, I have gotten the chance to be in the mix of things as last Wednesday at LCS we got some great news that we would all be attending a show at LFW.

Friday 14th of September, Day 1 of Fashion Week I decided to head off with my camera in tow to shoot some street style. I got more than I bargained for and spotted Kelly Brook arriving at the Zoe Jordan SS13 show. Despite almost being throttled by paparazzi in my attempt to get shot of the British star it didn't slightly take away from the buzz of my first celebrity sighting of the week

The shot i got of Kelly. She teamed her bright lemon boyfriend blazer with a Zoe Jordan print dress
and perfectly completed the look with black peep toe heels and a red lip.

Yesterday, I attended the David Koma SS13 show at Somerset House. Which, for me was such a treat as I have been a huge fan of previous David Koma collections and his style of design in general. To make the cake even sweeter , Pixie Lott and her gorgeous BF model Oliver Cheshire were sat in the front row at the show alongside Corinne Bailey Rae and Delilah. Corinne and Delilah both happily posed for pictures, How exciting is that?!

Looking Ah-May-Zing.
Stunning heels worn by Delilah.
Corrine Bailey Rae.

Pixie and her boo at David Koma.

To put the cherry on top, as i was scouting around Somerset House shooting some great street style I spotted Olivia Palermo. So like any good fan would, I made a hop skip and a jump in her direction to try and nab a picture of her elegant outfit. She sweetly agreed and posed for the shot, not to the amusement of her manager though who slightly told me off. Of course, it was worth it.
Looking flawless as ever, Olivia Palermo.
(and cranky manger in background : )

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I will be putting up my Street Style blog very shortly so keep a look out for that. Thank you for reading.
